Refer to Roger's article to get links to these procedures (Be aware that this part is not fun stuff) One of the two procedure will do (I used the modern one). First, you have to "enroll" in a fastidious security procedure: either the vintage « 2 STEPS » authentification OR the modern " 2 FACTORS" authentification.Getting that "token" is not as easy as you would think: The idea here is that to get it to work in for Leopard's Mail you HAVE TO GET AN EQUIVALENT OF THE "APPLE SECURITY TOKEN"that is now used in modern versions of Apple's Mail. I have followed Roger Wilmutt's procedure as well and IT WORKED in the end, BUT. This is obviously not for the faint of heart, but after that last port setting change, JUMP FOR JOY I DiD, it all started to work. This was the last part that got me stumped for a while. As Roger suggest in his page, change the port to 913 (better check his page for the number).Back in Mail, paste the 14-letters psswd were you are usually typing your Mail pswd (In BOTH the incoming AND outgoing servers).Copy that veeeery loooong psswd to the clipboard.Name it anything and YOU WILL GET ONE VEEEERY LOOOONG PSSWD> The name is of no consequence to anyone but you: you could name it BRouFT or Shlinnnnker or MotherTheresa. You can have up to 25 or 35 of these "application passwords", so be sure to give yours a name (Like: LeopardMail or AppleMail or.). Somewhere in the SECURITY SETTINGS for your account there is a link to "ASK FOR APPLICATION PASSWORD. Login into your Apple ID settings page on the Apple website:.See next lines to know how to request it > This "application password" is issued on YOUR REQUEST ONLY. The new psswd will be a 14-letters "application password". After you have "enrolled" in the authentification procedure of your choice, THEN and ONLY THEN you will be able to get an application password that will replace your usual AppleID password wherever In Mail you used to paste your Apple ID psswd.Refer to Roger's article to get links to these procedure (Be aware that this part is not fun) ![]()
